What's different about Mosman gardens
Mosman is an older suburb, which means most gardens have mature plantings that have been shaped by the previous three owners. Formal hedges — lilly pilly, buxus, murraya — dominate street frontages and need regular structural cuts to stay sharp, not just a quick pass with the trimmer. Mature camellias, frangipanis and magnolias need pruning with actual intent, not a hack back. The microclimate (harbourside, humid, sheltered) means things grow fast in spring and you can go from "looking great" to "looking wild" in three weeks without a regular visit.
The local wildlife is mostly brushtail possums, rainbow lorikeets and the occasional bandicoot. The possums will strip a lemon tree overnight if you let them. The lorikeets are loud and harmless and free.
The big thing in Mosman, though, is property turnover. A lot of the work we do is pre-sale — gardens that have been slowly letting themselves go for five years and suddenly need to look camera-ready in three weeks. That's where we come in hardest.
